How to make ice cream without an ice machine?
We always wanted to make ice cream , but unfortunately we have no ice machine. We thought is there maybe no any other way to make ice cream ? And after some research, we finally found a recipe. And we must say its yummie too! Last week we made this delicious Walnut ice cream cake.
This is a great alternative for those who have no ice machine at home like us.
Lets start and make some delicious ice creammm 😀
Ingredients:
- 6/7 thin slices of butter cake without crust (homemade cake or if you have no time to make it yourself just buy at the supermarket.)
- 150 grams of walnuts
- 2 eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 150 grams of sugar
- 3 cups whipping cream (a 250 ml)
- meringues
Directions:
– Cover the spring form with a sheet of parchment paper.
– Cover the bottom of the spring form with the cake.
– Put the eggs, yolks and the sugar in a heatproof bowl. Au Bain-marie and mix.
– Beat the eggs with the mixer in 5-10 minutes till its thick and creamy.
– Remove the bowl from the pan, whisk the egg mixture for 2 minutes more.
– Beat 500 ml cream, add the whipped cream and 100 grams of walnuts into the egg mixture
– Pour the mixture in the spring form .
– Put it in the freezer for at least 4 hours.
Decoration:
When serving this walnut ice cream cake.
– Beat 250 ml cream, and cover the ice cream cake with the whipped cream.
– Crumble the meringues and walnuts and sprinkle the ice cream cake with it

Thank you so much thisfoodieloversewcrafty! This Walnut ice cream cake is Yum hihi 😀
It is too hot in here to cook anything but I went ahead got the ingredients and all set up. But then I took the awesome slices put some whipping cream on top and garnished it with walnuts. Finished it in 6 seconds and cake was no more 😦 So next time may I suggest something where the ingredients are not this tasty 😛
Hi,how you doing? Yes in Melbourne you have a lovely weather! Here in the Netherlands its freezing right now 😦 , but still we love to eat ice cream though hihi. But we are SO glad you tried and liked this recipe 😀 ! And it is delicious right hihi? You can also add some fruit to make it more fresh. We have some questions, hope you don’t mind. What time of the year, is the best time to visit Australia? Melbourne&Sydney are the cities you have to visit! But are there any other cities you can recommend us? Sorry for all these questions hihi..
40 Celsius is not ‘lovely’, trust me. But cold or hot, ice cream is evergreen. To be honest I only know places in my state which are amazing of course. I still have to go on the complete country tour but Australia is so huge. I have heard Tasmania is a true delight and is just like small New Zealand. If you want true Australia then Uluru is must at the centre of Australia’s vast landscape. Weather in Melbourne is so unpredictable. I guess try to avoid the extreme weather. Visiting on October-November (months before the blazing heat) is appropriate as everyone is getting in the festive mood [plus discounted shopping 🙂 ] and summerish kinda weather is awesome for beaches, camping etc. But see if you can ask some travellers and get as many suggestions u can.
Feel free to ask anything.
Who wouldn’t want this??? Looks fantastic!
I think many of us would love to try this hihih…Thank you Itaft 😀

Such an interesting idea! It looks like a cross between an ice-cream cake and semifreddo! If only I could open the drawer in my freezer, I’d definitely give this a go . . .
