Milan, the city of Fashion, Art & delicious Risotto.
Hello lovely bloggers,
You may all have noticed that it’s been quite some time that we haven’t updated our latest travels (city trips)…on our blog. So sorry about that!
We recently traveled through the beautiful Italy. We have already been to this country before, North-Italy . But this time we visited Milan & Rome too.
Our Italy trip started in Milano, the city known of their Fashion and delicious food. People who love everything about fashion this is the place to be! Milan has headquarters of some leading international fashion designers like Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci, Armani, Versace. So its no surprise that this city is considered to be the fashion capital of the world. Milan (capital of Lombardy) is the second largest city in Italy after Rome. People who love art can also see the famous painting of Leonardo da Vinci ‘ last supper here.
If you are visiting Milan you really have to try Risotto. Because as it comes to food, risotto is the major course of the city compared to pasta and pizza in other Italian cities. Tip: Before you start your day make sure to visit Motta cafe, which you can find almost everywhere in Milan. They have super tasty sandwiches, sweets and great Coffee! We also noticed that there is so much ethnic groups in Italy, lots of Chinese, Sri langkan, African and especially Filipinos. We love the multiculture 🙂 .
Unfortunately we only stayed in Milan for 2 days so we weren’t able to see all the sightseeing and meeting up with our blog friend, the always friendly chef Luca. We would love to go back to Milan and try his traditional Italian food which always looks SO delicious. Hopefully someday soon. Check chef Luca’s blog for great recipes.
Where did we go:
Duomo Santa Maria Nascente
Address : Piazza del Duomo 16
CATHEDRAL
Daily 7.00 – 18.40
TERRACES
Daily 9.00 – 18.30.
Closed on Christmas Day and 1st May.
By lift: Full price € 12,00
On foot: Full price € 7,00
It took almost nearly 6 centuries to build this gothic cathedral. The best thing is, the entrance is free! Really beautiful architecture.
The view from the roof of the Duomo is stunning! We bought tickets( incl the elevator). Although we used the elevator, you have to take the stairs to get to the Cathedral terraces. Duomo is really worth a visit.
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
Address : Piazza Duomo, 20123 Milano, Italy
Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday: 10.00 am to 7.00 pm. Sunday closed
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele is named after the first king of the kingdom of Italy and is one of the oldest shopping mall in the world. It contains lots of luxury shops and café/restaurants.
It is possible to reach the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele using the M1/M3 and getting off at the Duomo stop.

Did you try any gelatto? It’s so much lighter and creamier than ice cream with more fresh fruity flavors.
Hi Adam! We did try, but only in Venice and Rome. Its so delicious you could easily eat it everyday haha. And you are right you can taste the fresh fruit in it. 😀
Great suggestions for things to do in Milan – the cathedral looks amazing.

Hi Indah! You are welcome 🙂 Great blog you have!
Thank you.. 😀
Thanks for liking my post recently. I too have been to Milan, only for a few days, and loved it but my husband loved it even more and is determined to return. We found a fantastic restaurant, accidentally, and I’d recommend it to everyone visiting this amazing city. It is called Limone (http://www.ristorantelimone.it/) and the waiters treated us like celebrities with a glass of champagne upon arrival whilst a gentleman played piano throughout the meal. Just amazing.
Regards,
Hii Life in Camelot! Milan is a great city, we understand he wants to go back hihi. This restaurant Limone looks GOOD, we just saw the website. Definitely worth a visit when we go back to Milan. The dishes looks so Yum, piano play on the background perfect 🙂 And when they treat you like a celebrity is even more better hihi. Good service indeed! Thanks for the Advice, we appreciate it.
